Would that be interesting to you to do curriculum development because I have a background in tutoring and education. So, we were just having a kind of general conversation about where I was trying to go next, and she said well I have potentially a position opening up in my team. And I was just asking kind of general questions or talking through career advice because she had always been really kind and forthcoming and said yeah like reach out to me, I’m happy to help. I was just having coffee with a faculty member from the GC actually who I had with while I was in the program. So, I thought that I was going to be a web developer, and like interactive data visualization developer basically was what I was going for. That’s like html and CSS and JavaScript, so building interactive web applications that are data visualizations. And the skills I was like most excited about in that program were the interactive data visualization and web development. I was in the MS program of Data Analysis and Visualization. That was actually a big goal of mine because the step before this was being a grad student at the Grad Center. I really thought that my next career move a few months ago was going to be towards web development or data visualization developer, doing more kind of day-to-day coding. SIBINGA: So, it was a little surprising to me to end up here, actually. Except for a lot of the writing, we actually work with content contributors and subject matter experts, so I work with those people to write the content, but my job is to develop the content.ĬROOKS: And how did you get interested in this field? And then everything from the idea phase to the getting it published on the website phase. thinking about what kind of content we want to have on the platform, what do our learners want to learn in data science, so coming up with the courses. I’m a curriculum developer on the data science team. And my role is to help develop the educational content. It’s an online learning platform for learning code.
